Is Jake Locker Ready for Sunday?

Now that the Titans have reached the Double Down point of their 2012 season. The Tennessee Titans have made it a little less likely to make this post-season, Unless Jake Locker is 100% Healthy. If by any chance he's not, that would be a foolish and greedy decision for anybody to even entertain.

Jake is our guy, no matter how you look at things, having him in any physical diress could leave him out for a lot longer. This is Our QB for the next few Years, so shouldn't we be a little more cautious about tossing him right back in?

We Miss you Vince, not your attitude, but for your love of the game, and desire to win. Many do not rate these catagory's statisticly, but think of the emotional impact a player can have during each game. Leadership is the teams most needed attribute, that it has been lacking Jeff Fisher in my opinion.

Chris Johnson Highlights

Matt Hasselbeck Revives the Titans 35-34 win over Bills - Yahoo! Sports

Hasselbeck seals Titans 35-34 win over Bills - Yahoo! Sports: "ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Chris Johnson finally hit the gas. And Matt Hasselbeck delivered in the clutch for a second straight week. And together, they appear to have the sputtering Tennessee Titans turned in the right direction after capping a wild and wacky game with a thrilling finish in a 35-34 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Johnson got the Titans' offense up and running with 195 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Those scores came during a wild first quarter, in which Tennessee and Buffalo scored three TDs in a span of 30 seconds. It was then up to Hasselbeck to secure the victory by hitting Nate Washington with a 15-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 1:03 remaining.
''It's a great feeling,'' Hasselbeck said. ''To pull through once again in a close game for our third win in a game that came down basically to the last play was a great feeling.''" 'via Blog this'

Titans QB Hasselbeck to start vs Vikings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Jake Locker's left shoulder is sore enough that the Tennessee Titans don't even want him dressing Sunday when they visit Minnesota, so veteran Matt Hasselbeck will start at quarterback.

Whether Locker misses more than one game depends on how quickly his non-throwing shoulder heals.

''We'll take it day by day and see how he responds with soreness, getting the strength back and, like I said the last time, when he's ready to play, he'll be playing,'' coach Mike Munchak said Wednesday after
announcing the change at starter. ''Right now all we know is he won't play this weekend.''

Locker dislocated his non-throwing shoulder for the second time in four games when sacked in last week's 38-14 loss at Houston. Munchak said Wednesday that Locker's shoulder has not improved over the past day and remains just as sore. But Munchak said they assume Locker will heal rather quickly and they'll put him back in the starting lineup when he is ready.

''We're always going to do what's best for the player, best for the quarterback,'' Munchak said. ''He's going to be here a long time, so quarterbacking for a long, long time with this organization, so obviously we're going to do the right thing by him.''

The Titans (1-3) host Pittsburgh on Oct. 11, so they face a quick turnaround.

Chris Johnson not taking blame for Titans' run game

By Terry McCormick | National Football Post

Chris Johnson said the Tennessee Titans offense has to work as a unit in order to find success.

But Johnson said he is not to blame for the run game problems, even though he knows he is a target, according to TitanInsider.com.

“Even when I went for 2,000, I didn't think I was perfect, but I wouldn't sit here and say I'm to blame. I'm only gonna be as good as my line is going to be. We've got to work together and get better,” Johnson said.

Johnson said he knows he is a target for criticism after holding out for a $53 million contract extension.

“I'm the highest paid guy on this team, so of course, I get the criticism. But it's something I don't let get me down,” Johnson said.

Titans' Marks unlikely to go against Patriots

By Terry McCormick | National Football Post

The Tennessee Titans could be without defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks, who missed the entire week of practice while nursing a sprained MCL in his right knee.

Marks missed the preseason finale against New Orleans, and if he cannot go on Sunday, it could mean that rookie third-round pick Mike Martin and undrafted rookie DaJohn Harris could see increased roles against the New England Patiots. Second-year pro Karl Klug, a pass rush type who had seven sacks a year ago, will have a big role, too.

"Obviously, having Klug, and especially in this game, when they’re going to be throwing the ball quite a bit, you have him. We’re happy with Mike Martin, how well he played. He came on strong here in the last preseason game. We’re confident with him and also with the young guy we kept. We think Harris can go in there and give us some reps too if that’s the case. I think we feel good with that," Titans coach Mike Munchak said via TitanInsider.com.

Rookies going against the Patriots is usually a tough role, and you can bet Bill Belichick and the Patiots will try to take advantage of a young Tennessee defense if they can.
